Duelist Sidesword: The Righteous Revenant The Duelist Sidesword evokes images of swashbuckling heroes in classic literature or films, such as The Three Musketeers, Cyrano de Bergerac, or Count of Monte Cristo. These characters were often depicted as expert swordsmen, and their weapons were part of their identity as skilled and honorable duelists. Although this sword is rooted in an earlier period and tradition, this homage seeks to preserve the captivating legacy of that literary imagery, which resonates with the timeless appeal of this refined weapon. Our latest redesign focuses on a full revamp of the crossguard – from the concave ports to the fishtail ends – adding elegance and balance, advancing our universal Modular Sword System™ goal. The guard is heat-treated and it includes the knuckle-bow. Additionally, resting your finger on the quillon block is exceptionally comfortable, and the squared blocks on the finger rings add a touch of elegance. FEATURES: Agile and versatile: Under 1.2 kilograms, it adapts perfectly to Renaissance fencing techniques. Heat-treated crossguard and blade: Ensures resilience and longevity. Two pommel styles: Choose the fig for thrusting or the disc for stronger cuts. Diamond wide blade: Offers superior control in binding and fluid cutting motion. Comfortable ricasso: Rounded ricasso enhances grip comfort. Blunt edges, high flexibility and thickened tip: Prioritizes safety in HEMA training and competition. Historical design with modern upgrades: Inspired by originals and training swords from the first half of the 16th century, designed specifically for Martial Arts and Historical Fencing. The Duelist sidesword combines versatility for the modern fencer, and those who value historical refinement, crafted for seamless integration with various companion tools—whether wielding a buckler, targa, parrying dagger, or a case of swords. CARE TIPS Blade and Hilt Maintenance: After use, always clean the blade, pommel, and crossguard with oils like Gunex or WD40. Grip Care: Avoid applying oil to a cord grip. Instead, gently clean it by rubbing with a cloth soaked in a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Leather Grip Care: Keep your leather grip nourished with leather oil or grease, but remember— protective products will darken the shade over time. Rust Prevention: Promptly address any rust, as it can penetrate beneath the surface of the steel, causing damage. Storage Guidelines: Store your sword in a dry environment and away from damp gear. Damage Prevention: Always round nicks or dents with a flat file to prevent breakages.
