When Braund bought the farm in 1985, it was primarily a macadamia nut farm with some newly planted coffee and a few older coffee-bearing plants. Braund planted more coffee trees and now the farm has approximately 6.5 acres of coffee. Braund Farms is located on the Big Island of Hawaii between 1,250 and 1,450 feet on the cool and fertile western slope of the Hualalai volcano, in the Keauhou area of the Kona coffee district. This “Kona Coffee Belt” is a prime coffee-growing area that is approximately one mile wide by 30 miles long at elevations from 500 feet to 2,500 feet. Only coffee grown in this region may be called Kona coffee. All sales of 100% Estate Kona, Braund Farm coffee are FINAL, NON-EXCHANGEABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE.
